Fantastic product but...

I've been looking for a blade that would take my hair almost to the skin but not quite. I am very prone to hair bumps and after getting a cut from a barber with both the Andis Outliner (blade version that can be used with removable clippers) that leaves hair 0.1mm and this Andis 00000, I knew this was the right clipper for me.

Having said that, I finally found and purchased the Andis Outliner, 00000, and 0000 blades from Barber Supplies (incredibly fast delivery and great website btw, and i reside in SK) and was horrified initially. Out of the box, the 00000 and Outliner blades cut my head and pulled the hairs! I had no idea this was going to be the case as I was under the impression that these removable blades were "fixed" and required no adjustment, especially brand new, freshly out of the box.

After a fair amount of research, I found that I had to reset the cutting blade gap from the fixed blade. I also had to adjust the tension so it was at 2lbs of pressure. After these adjustments and some blade oil, no more head cuts or hair pulls. I think it would be incredibly helpful if these instructions were given by the manufacturer or supplier (I understand this is a bit of a stretch for the supplier) but this doesn't seem to be common knowledge. I also found this job is one that blade sharpening services would provide which is sad because you just spent anywhere from $30-50 per blade and they need to be adjusted further out of the box.

In closing, these blades are incredible products and I will use them for the rest of my life. THEY MAY REQUIRE PROPER ADJUSTMENT TO WORK AS INTENDED, OUT OF THE BOX.

ps. Using these blades with the Andis Supra ZR2
